1. Room and property

Record the suburb, room and whether the home will be occupied during the work.
Gather any floor plans, previous drawings, reports or renovation records you have.
Take overview photos and close-ups of visible damage, services, windows, doors and areas to retain.
Note approximate room dimensions and label them as unverified until checked on site.

2. Use and storage

List the items that need to be stored and how often each group is used.
Describe tasks, accessibility needs, preferred work areas and any circulation concerns.
Identify appliances, fixtures and products that may affect cabinet dimensions.

Save reference images and write down what you like about each one.
Record preferred colours, surface appearance, handles and hardware, noting what is still undecided.
Ask for exact product names, current specifications, care instructions and warranty terms in writing.

4. Scope and questions

List access restrictions, delivery considerations and rooms that need to stay usable.
Write your priorities, budget context and preferred timing, if known.
Ask what is included, excluded, provisional and subject to a site inspection.
Record approval, structural, electrical, plumbing or hazardous-material questions for the relevant qualified professional.
